The Surrogacy (Regulation) Act 2021 and the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act 2021 are two major legal reforms introduced in India to regulate fertility treatments and ensure ethical practices. The Surrogacy Act allows only altruistic surrogacy for Indian married couples, with strict eligibility rules for both intending parents and surrogate mothers.
